Global G.L.O.W. is a non-profit organisation that creates and operates innovative programs to mentor girls to advocate for themselves and make their communities stronger. Running since 2012, they partner with over 60 mission-aligned schools, community centres and NGOs that work directly with girls in vulnerable communities to address their unique, real-time needs, operating in more than 30 countries and across the United States. In 2023, over 17,000 girls were enrolled in Global G.L.O.W. out-of-school programs.<\/p>\n

With international travel resuming again in 2023 Global G.L.O.W. approached beTravelwise to see if we could enrol their travellers on a range of our courses to make them as prepared as possible prior to a variety of trips, including attending the Women Deliver Conference in Rwanda in the summer.<\/p>\n

As the risks vary widely across the destinations they will be travelling to, their travellers have been enrolled onto 4 of our courses. Travel Wise, our flagship foundation course; Health Wise that deep dives into travel health and medical issues, including malaria awareness; Incident Wise that looks at how to react to more serious incidents that one may encounter in higher risk locations; and, My Travel Wise, our course that looks at personal risk and how to ensure your personal safety. Immy Marangio, Development Manager at beTravelwise, who managed this project, said, \u201cI hadn\u2019t heard about Global G.L.O.W. before they contacted us, but am really impressed by what they do. I feel really strongly about how important advocacy for adolescent and young adult women is and we hope that by providing a foundation of travel safety knowledge to the team, they will be able to make an even bigger impact to their global projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe aim to make our learning as engaging as possible, to help aid knowledge retention and encourage adopting safe practices; so to hear that everyone was also enjoying the training, was welcome feedback.\u201d<\/p>\n
